Hi,
First of all, I want to thank all of those who prayed for me,
and those who wished me well.
We traveled to Nashville
today to allow the surgeon a last look at the tumor before surgery. I’m
happy to report that the endoscope confirmed my surgeon’s belief that the
tumor was confined to the inside of my stomach. He first inserted the endoscope
down my throat to view the tumor from the inside of my stomach, and then he
inserted the endoscope through two small incisions in my belly to observe the
tumor’s location on the exterior of my stomach. The tumor had not spread
beyond my stomach! He was al smiles as he said he was optimistic that the
surgery would be successful. Furthermore, he said that the chemotherapy had
shrunk the tumor “nicely” making it easier to deal with. Surgery is
scheduled for March 7, 2012. at Vanderbilt
University Hospital.
Regards,
Jim Shupe
