All those prayers were heard and answered.
Finally, his blood pressure stabilized, the heart gradually returned to a normal sinus rhythm on it's own, he has no fever, and the ventilator was turned down all the way so he can breathe on his own. The tube may come out within the next 12 to 24 hours we hope. The unhealthy blood gasses are the only thing keeping the vent tube in. He was not on sedation at all all day, and by late this afternoon finally began responding to us, nodding and moving when we asked him to, and looking at us with his eyes.
This morning I was very very worried, and not as much now.
Cindy is spending the night at the hospital to give Mom the most rest she can get before he gets off the vent and begins asking for her a lot.
The next hurtle is getting off the vent but him remaining comfortable until then. It's a balancing act of medications.
My Mom's first cousin Jan is in the hospital now too, very sick. They are very close. When it rains it does pour sometimes.

Worse through the night
Blood pressure is uncontrolled, he may be in septic shock. Very rough ride right now. He is kept comfortable with meds. The mucus in his lungs is a real problem.
Lots of prayers please
