After just two nights at Lifecare, Dad came home

Dsd wanted so much to be home and in his own chair, and take as many showers as he wants. He just couldn't stay away any longer. Mom and I decided we could handle the medical care for him at home, so now we are home. Home health is coming tomorrow. He is doing quite well and not trying to do too much, which was our biggest fear. He is able to sit in his recliner and stay at a 30 degrees or greater incline comfortably to keep his stomach acid out of his esophagus as much as possible.

Keeping good track of all the medicines times and dosages, recording blood pressure, giving as many medications as we can in a crushed up form in water through the J tube, connecting his nutrition at night, but the biggie has been giving the heparin shot. Tonight, Mom gave it because I got weak all over just thinking about it. She has been awake for over 36 hours because she stayed with him last night at Lifecare, and is finally sleeping now. I'm glad she is allowing me to take over for her tonight.

Hopefully his pain will not be so bad tonight and he will sleep actually sleep at home.  I just saw we have been under a tornado warning. I hear thunder and see lightning but that's about it. I hope it stays that way!
