He is still on the vent :( we keep hoping this will come out soon. He is breathing well on his own, but his lungs have some fluid again. It's a balancing act. He is being kept comfortable and mostly asleep. Not so agitated when he wakes up. If he sees/hears one of us he gets agitated because he wants to communicate and can't. So we are here but staying quiet and out of the way. It's hard not to go to him when we see him awake but it is better for him. He is more calm that way. Vitals are stable.
He has fluid in his lungs again so they want to resolve that. The lung bacteria will be cultured all the way out by today so they will know the exact bacteria in there. He has no fever though, which is a good sign.
The SICU nurses and Drs are really great here at Vanderbilt. We are so fortunate to be here. The Hope Lodge has been wonderful as well.
Thank you all for the prayers, we have felt the strength from them!
