The abdominal abcess was inacessable unless they went through the lung

The drs did not want to do that so they left it alone and are treating it with strong antibiotics, He is trying to do this by mouth so he can be released Wednesday. His hip falls these past weeks after the surgery did cause a localized blood clot which they removed today.

He has an appointment with the neurologist that programs his stimulator on Thursday and we will do all we can to get arrangements to stay here at the Hope House so we don't have to make the drive again. Plus, he has an appointment with a new stomach cancer oncologist here at Vanderbilt on Friday, so again we hope to stay at the Hope House Thursday night as well. The problems with the hotels here is there is not one with a lazyboy chair, and Dad really needs to sleep on an incline so he doesn't have severe reflux. The Cancer Society Hope Lodge has lounge chairs in the rooms.

Except for the awful long wait for the drain appointment with nothing for dad to eat or drink,( which understandably made him a might cranky)  today went pretty well. Dad is resting comfortably with nutrition running, no iv fluids anymore, He is on flagyl and cipro for the infection. He gets fluconisole as well to help prevent a fungal side effect from the massive antibiotics. The nurses are fantastic :-)

Mom is a the Sheraton getting some good sleep :) I can sleep anywhere, and I did today from about 2 until 7 in a "quiet" room with lounge chairs and lots of pillows and blankets.

Again, I can't say enough times how glad I am Cindy got them in the car and brought them here Saturday evening. It saved us all from what could easily have been a bad emergency situation.  Instead, it was an easy trip up and then calm admittance to the hospital he needed to be in.

God was watching out for us and provided wonderful guidance :)
